Gamer's Shadow was a video game review site created by Onision and his friend Jad in 2002. To date, it is one of the earliest known sites ever used by Greg and hosted some of his earliest videos. The site finally shut down sometime in 2003, though it can still be browsed using the Wayback Machine.
History
Creation
The original site was created sometime in 2002, and its original layout mentions that Jad was the owner of the site, while Greg acted as the webmaster.[1][2]
Throughout its life, the site underwent a number of layout changes, and even managed to recruit other staff members who would write reviews and articles. It would also function as a hub for both the gaming community, with numerous forum iterations throughout the years. The site even sold merchandise through CafePress for a time.[3]
Forums
The site's forums were the most unstable and constantly changing part of it. It seems like they would change freqeuntly due to disagreements with various forum services. They also sometimes were hosts to whatever drama du jour was ongoing at the time---which was sometimes reflected in updates to the Gamer's Shadow homepage.[4]
Sometime in the middle of 2003, the site was shut down and the URL functioned as a redirect to The Shadow Boards.
Greg owned the domain until at least 2008, and used it as a redirect to a number of short-lived websites he owned.
Onision's Aliases
Initially, Greg would use the name "Oddikaun"[2] (a portmanteau of Odd and Otacon, from the Metal Gear franchise) as the alias for this site, though he would later change it to "OddsEnd".[5]
Videos
Three known videos survived the termination of the site, and were uploaded to Greg's Onision site sometime in 2005. These videos are the earliest known video content that Greg has ever had a hand in making. Two of them are still available to view, but the third is currently missing from the archive.[6]
