Onision: Air Force

Greg during the early portion of his military career, circa 2005.

Onision served in the U.S. Air Force from 2005 to 2008. He originally joined of his own free will, but was given a general discharge under honorable conditions in October of 2008 after claiming conscientious objector status.

Recruitment and Basic Training

Greg signed up to join the military on 3 January 2005, after having decided the previous night he would join. About two weeks later, on 14 January, Greg manage to successfully complete his Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (AVSAB) Test, after failing to make it to his first test due to car troubles. Three days later, Greg was given his first official physical at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Seattle, Washington. After successfully passing his physical, Greg became a part of the Delayed Entry Program on 24 January 2005, and waited to be shipped out to basic training.

On April 10, Greg received his final screening at the Seattle MEPS and was shipped off to basic training on April 12th--likely to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX...
